Blocks 9/6 & 9/7b (Licence P1575)

Nautical was awarded a 35% operated interest in blocks 9/6 and 9/7b in the 25th Seaward Licensing Round in 2009 for a period of 4 years. These blocks are directly south of 9/2b which  contains the Kraken discovery.

The mapping of existing 2D seismic revealed several culminations at both Maureen and Heimdal levels; the seismic signature being analogous to sand rich channels elsewhere on the platform. Further prospectivity is seen on the recently purchased 3D seismic data analogous to the Kraken discovery.

High resolution 2D seismic was acquired in 3Q 2008. This has been processed and interpreted, indicating sand development over the prospect in Block 9/6.
