The planning application has now been submitted. All planning applications for mineral developments are dealt with by the County Council rather than the District or Borough Council. Our planning application has been submitted to and will be determined by Cumbria County Council rather than Barrow in Furness Borough Council.
The application was submitted on 14th February 2012 and Cumbria County Council will have 13 weeks to determine the application in which time they will send out their own letters of public consultation to all the nearby residents, businesses and Councillors as well as other interested groups and stakeholders such as the Wildlife Trust and the Environment Agency. The application has a target determination date of 15th May 2012.
We will address any concerns that are raised to ensure that if granted planning permission, the development would cause minimal disruption to the local environment and people. You will have the opportunity to view and comment on the planning application prior to it being determined by the County Council.
